BCA Green Mark 2021 is Refreshed

BCA Green Mark 2021 is officially launched at Singapore International Built Environment Week 2021

On 7th Sep 2021, Green Mark 2021 criteria and technical guide are refreshed with its official launch at Singapore International Built Environment Week. The refreshed criteria and scoring framework can be downloaded from the official website of Green Mark 2021.

The BCA Green Mark 2021 (GM: 2021) is an internationally recognised green building certification scheme tailored for the tropical climate. It encourages the industry and professionals to collaborate and develop green building solutions, raising Singapore’s built environment’s sustainability standards. BCA Green Mark 2021 (GM: 2021) aims to raise our standards in energy performance and place greater emphasis on other sustainability outcomes:


  •    - Designing for maintainability,
  •    - Reducing embodied carbon across a building’s life cycle,


  •    - Using smart technologies,
  •    - Enhancing a building’s resilience to climate change and; 
  •    - Creating healthier environments for building users.



GM: 2021 scheme, which was official launched on 7 Sep 2021 as part of Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP), had concluded the exercise after extensive consultation with key industry stakeholders and partners including Singapore Green Building Council. GM: 2021 will take effect from 1 November 2021.

Green Mark 2021 applies to new and existing buildings including commercial buildings, industrial buildings, institutional buildings and residential buildings. For more information, please visit official website of Green Mark 2021.
